Jawid Danish left Afghanistan on his own when he was just 12 and made the journey to Europe just as many other refugees did. He spent 10 months working in Tehran, then came to Greece, through Turkey. After 9 months he finally arrived in Helsinki. Jawid has now written a book about his journey and it will be published on February 3 by Austin Macauley publisher in London.
Jawid is currently studying European Business Administration at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki. He describes himself as a free spirit and as an activist for the issues that touch him deeply.
Jawid has a passion for public speaking because it is one of the best ways that he can share his perspectives on human rights and immigration. He is also an athlete – he loves football, volleyball, and badminton, and spends a lot of time in the gym working out. In addition to sports, Jawid loves traveling, swimming in the Aegean, and playing chess in Greek cafes.
