Discussion on climate change and food security

Wednesday 15 November from 4–5.30 p.m.

You are cordially welcomed to the opening of the Together We Make A Difference! – exhibition on Wednesday, 15 November 2023 at 16:00 at Helinä Rautavaara Museum. The exhibition is on display 15.11.2023-25.2.2024.

The climate crisis is no longer a glimpse into the future but the daily reality for communities around the world. 3.6 billion people live in areas that are highly vulnerable to climate change – accounting for over 40% of the global population. Climate extremes are one of the leading causes of food insecurity globally.

As world leaders are preparing for the largest annual global gathering on climate action, COP28, you are kindly invited to join us for this event that will gather representatives from government, UN World Food Programme and UNA Finland to discuss the need for effective and scalable solutions to help food insecure people prepare for, respond to and recover from climate shocks and stresses:

Titta Maja-Luoto
Director General, Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Department for Development Policy

Andreas Hansen
Director, WFP Nordic Office (in English)

Jenni Kauppila
Advocacy Coordinator, UN Association of Finland

No sign-up needed. There will be refreshments at the event.

The original version of the exhibition was produced by the Nordic Office of the World Food Programme (WFP). The exhibition is edited and presented in Finland by the United Nations Association with support from Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Finland.
